For my end of the year project in Media Arts I would like to make a 3 minute video about myself and music. It will be filmed by my friend, he will come over and provide input and help me improve the video. The basis that I have for my video is I want it to be revolved around me and music. I want it to be very funny and include imagery of things like sheet music, my grand piano, etc.
To do this project, I will need a video editing program, A camera, and some time. I will be the only actor, but my friend will be helping me film and record.
This project is personal to myself because it follows myself and my interest: music.
This project will use the technical aspects that I learned from editing videos for my projects like my Stop Motion videos.
I took inspiration from Zander's Active Listeners short film. I think he put alot of effort into that video and its story, and I want to make something slightly similar to that.
I dont think that anyone else in my class will be doing the short film that documents themselves, and if they do it will not include music or be as creative as mine.

My culminating project was inspired by the Active Listeners short film, produced by my friend Zander for his culminating last year. I knew I wanted to do something cool, with camera angles, scenes, dialogue. I'm not as passionate about film as my friend though, so I decided to make something comedic and simple. The process was me working with my limitations as I write up a script, take the camera home and film it with some of Zanders ideas and wit, throw it together in a video editing software and review it. Unfortunately I learnt that comedy is a difficult task to perform and not everything is funny. Lesson learnt, this project still stands as a test to my dedication and skill and overall work ethic. This project still competes with student movie standards and holds some interesting ideas.
Miss Cameron's class has been alot of fun throughout the year. I enjoyed making the website at the beginning of semester because it was fresh new and exciting. Unfortunitaly, I ended up having to put every single one of my projects on there. And as I continued to do that it became more and more annoying to deal with the features. I enjoyed the class atmosphere, it was fun just sitting in the back and working on projects, but man, the marking is tough. I failed my pencil vs camera even though I did the same amount of work as my peers Andrea and Mike. In a class like media arts, less should not be considered more. And creativity should be left up to the person. My favorite part of the class was being given cookies left over from the fundraiser. That was awesome and nice of Miss Cameron.
